Feaure request: skip rebuilding after re-configuration
As far as I remember, Autoconf implements logic such that if a config file (i.e. one generated with AC_CONFIG_HEADER
) remains the same after re-configuration, it's not touched and, therefore, the re-compilation of all files that depend on it is skipped. Of course, the logic in YAXT is more sophisticated and there are much more dependencies to keep under control. However, it would be nice if YAXT kept as many files with unchanged timestamps as possible after re-configuration. Especially, because in ICON, it triggers unnecessary rebuilding of all of its dependants.
