CMORisation of asynchronously coupled simulations in general
AWI and MPI-M both registered asynchronously coupled simulations (both with an acceleration factor of 10). Now we are wondering how these simulations should be standardised. In the following I make a few suggestions. Please give feedback which you prefer, or suggest another option:
Assume a 10.000 yr simulation
- CMORise the ice sheet model from year 1 to 10.000; every 100 years have a 10yr chunk of echam/jsbach (I guess that makes the most sense given your descriptions of these simulations):
- PISM: 1-100, 101-200, ...
- echam: 1-10, 101-110, ...
- CMORise the ice sheet model from year 1 to 10.000; every 10 years have a 1 yr chunk of echam/jsbach (this is not possible for centennial PISM output, which I think is the case for some variables):
- PISM: 1-10, 11-20, ...
- echam: 1, 11, ...
- CMORise the ice sheet model from year 1 to 10.000 and echam/jsbach from 1 to 1.000
- PISM: 1-100, 101-200, ..., 901-1.000, ..., 9.901-10.000
- echam: 1-100, 101-200, ..., 901-1.000
