follow-up for plugins in development
Dear @b382533 , @m300402 , @b382105
First of all, I must say that is very exciting that you are so active into your plugin development. I am sorry I could not keep up with all of you. I am trying to do so. I write this general comment here but we could open individual issues to comment the different plugin stragies one by one.
I am gathering some information about the plugins that are currently in development, to get a complete overview of what we are running there and see how I can help pushing to production / standardising inputs/outputs (e.g. for the postAG etc.).
My idea would be to retake the former developers plugin monthly meeting in ~october as well, for this purposes. I would write a proper email for that.
On the other hand, for the standarisation, a colleague from our freva team developed a tool that will help keeping the repos tidy so they can be maintanable in the long term by other people. We think it could be a very good idea. I want to test it first to get the hung of it.
I would ask you if you could provide me some input about the plugins you are developping and I see connected in XCES:
- purpose: a couple of phrases.
- status
- repo folder: if the plugin does not have a repo associated could you push the code to one so I could also follow it?
1. @b382533
I see that you have 8:
- analogues: (searching analogues of events?) repo?
-
datacollector, dacollect, dacol, dastudy01, fldmeansI pressume that these are grouped together, I might be wrong, tho): for what I undertand, datacollector would be use to calculate several fldmeans.
- landmean
- pca projection
- nao calculation
- hwfrac: could this be related to hwmid and regional_hwmid from @b382105 plugins?
- block, block2d, sousablock: could this be related to blocking_2d plugin? Would it make sense to reconcile them?
- ...?
- dsmettrics: purpose?
- dualtrees2d: purpose?, repo?
- spei: calculation of potential evapostranspiration, could it be related to the SPEI of climdexcalc2?
- tlsw: (Trend and Spectral Estimation of Nonstationary Time Series)? repo?
2. @m300402
- sousa_blocking: could this be related to the
sousa_blockingmethod at the dacollector plugins from @b382533 ? According to freva, your repo is regional_hwmid, so I pressume that you still have that repo pointing at in your.git/config
3 @b382105
- regional_hwmid: this plugin is related to hwmid , although it expands the area selection, methodology etc. I am currently working on merging "old" hwmid into regional_hwmid, and replace the old one by yours, if you have no inconvenience against it. I used your ideas on the regional selection in the PSI plugin, I will incorporate the changes I made back to your plugin to expand it to diff grid selections as well.
I hope I am not missing anyone nor any other plugin.
As I said, it would be really helpful to me if you could take some time to answer the questions I made.
