Please fix. Source probably should be generated with autoreconf --copy option.

@m300083 this (together with icon/icon@4af202b7c61c082424c20267d6d887f17e365959) might be source of your compilation problem:

checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 2.7... none
configure: error: no suitable Python interpreter found
configure: error: ./configure failed for externals/mtime

Those are two separate problems. The second one only happens for those who don't load any python module.
